Looks like Chris was let down by a forum member as one of these has ended up on ebay.
Potential bargain for anyone who was keen to try one of these:

Nothing major mate it was actually my fault in that I didn’t finish that bat overly well in a bit of a rush to get it done before holiday. The ordinal buyer was very polite and just asked to return it.

Since then Iv just fine tuned the finishing and put it up for sale on eBay as that kind of weight seems to be quite hard to sell. So at this stage in the season basically selling at cost price of the cleft so I don’t have it sitting around all winter.

Personally I think it’s a stunning bat both in terms of profile and ping.

Working on a slightly modified version of a GM Players Edition.

Grade 3
40mm edge
However this is a LH version for someone that asked for a pro players shape so I sent a pic of the my James Vince PE and he asked for this but with a mid/high middle.
Full profile pretty much convex
Semi oval handle
Weight around 3lb finished with 2 grips.

Will share once finished

Just a little update on some bats I’m working on.

Copy of this Affinity - not sure if it’s an actual affinity or was just refurbished by them. Adding my own twist to make a little fuller as is the craze at the moment and also a thicker toe as the current one is less than 10mm at the edge of the toe.
Weight will be 3lb as per request of customer and edges are 40 at largest point.

Also been working on these couple of clefts to practise concaving. I don’t always get the lightest willow in the very small quantities I buy in so working out a shape that offers in my opinion the best shape and size whilst trying to keep weight down.

These are both 2.8 in naked form so will be around 2.10 when finished which I know isn’t that light to some but I feel iv managed to ensure pick up is good through a thick handle and feel to me is about an oz lighter.

I keep the spine fairly low into the bat to not exaggerate the concaving as feel a high spine with concaving just looks likes a skate ramp and also making a mid/low middle allows more wood to be removed from the top third of the bat a bit like the GM Chrome from a few years back.

I would say the left bat is light to moderate concaving and the bat on the right is moderate to high amounts of concaving.

The bat on the left was a storm damaged cleft that I was gifted in my last order and the other is a G2 that had a knot in the shoulder area when a raw cleft but by a touch of luck it came out when shaping.

Been a bit of debate on her around concaving as this is no science at all but at the same weight currently bar 0.09 of an oz the heavier conclaves bat picks up better and feels much lighter to me but the light concaved bat has a much deeper and punchy could off the mallet and with a ball.  Could all be down to willow being a natural product, so who knows.

Any way hope people like the pics and brief write up, working on a couple of new colour ways for my stickers for next year but keeping the design the same.

Nice Buddy, seems like the practice is paying off.

Those two concaved shapes really remind of a Hell 4 Leather shape but can’t put my finger on which one. Not being a bat maker myself it seems like it would be a tough to ensure the concaving is even on both sides of the spine?

The 3lb LH looks like a club bloke using it must be a caveman haha.

I don’t have a magic way of knowing if each side of the spine is mm accurate to the other in terms of concaving i just use my natural eye and i put a little cut of bat grip over the back of the bat to see the angle left to see if it looks identical to my naked eye.  I personally work on the same amount of strokes with the round bottom plane or pull shave on each side in turn to also ensure i take roughly the same level of wood away.

One thing i know is it takes much longer to get a decent finish on a concave bat vs a convex bat.

Managed to get an couple hours in the workshop on Friday and finished these two off.

Both 2.10 with grips and stickers applied, G3 which has some storm damage also had a armour tech scuff sheet applied. Both feel good in the hands and for the first time of really making a spine into toe shape with a decent degree of concaving I’m quite happy with how they have turned out. More time consuming than the couple of shapes I have been making for my little brand but enjoyed a new challenge.

Now time to focus on a website and moving house. My new house has a workshop so looking forward to getting that set up and some new machinery in there when it all goes through .

Cheers mate.  Finding it ok now, can make my two stock shapes in repeat now with out the template and a new think Drawknife has really helped me with the shaping of the shoulders.  Wish I could get hold of some light willow at times as very hard to make anything much below 2.10.

I’m in the process of moving house and one of the requirements was a better workshop or garage and I have that coming so next on the list is a new Polishing wheel and maybe a drum sander as always looking to improve the finish on my bats.
Must say @jonny77 some lovely bats coming out of the Scott stable, loved the 2lb 7 bat shape you had on socials last week.

Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback.

Light willow will always be an issue, but then I suppose it's a matter of trying to get people to accept that big bats don't mean better bats, so smaller edges etc. at lighter weights. Also buying in slightly higher numbers should get you a few lighter ones. Speak to John at Red Ink. However it's difficult for any batmaker to give away thr really light clefts I'd think.

In terms of the drum sander, I started bulking one and have a metal frame coming. However don't think I'll actually use it, as the Mirka I have is great and can finish a bat in no time with less mess.

Look forward to seeing the workshop space.

Thanks for updating this thread @SOULMAN1012  - it’s great to see your bats evolve and new content & photos like yours is the best bit about CBF

Even tho I’m normally more lurker than poster i thought I’d just add my respectful and slightly envious kudos

Agreed mate but unfortunately most of these posts don't get any (or at best very little) interaction, so think it discourages people posting them. Which is a shame.

Hope neither of you get too discouraged as you both post some lovely looking sticks which keep me entertained while I'm "working" from home!

Notice both @SOULMAN1012 and @jonny77 have pretty good social media going on, have either of you looked at getting a website up to showcase stuff or facilitate orders?
