Perfect example of a cleft that a big brand would just chuck a sticker over the blemish and call it G1 anyway - lovely shape mate, great work.

Thank you mate and means a lot to have kind comments from a brand who’s business model and rise iv admired for a while

Agree with the above, lovely stuff. I see some ridiculous Grading out there. G2s which wouldn't pass as G3s and its not great for the customer. I appreciate its subjective, but sometimes its just taking the *#@&, so fair play to you mate

The main reason I started my own brand, honest grading and honest pricing for the grades. Some of the BS that’s spouted around and some of the claimed grades iv seen recently is truly shocking and that’s from big established as well as some others, very rarely seen from forum makers and sponsors I must add so even more reason to support the forum brands and retailers

Happy new year to everyone. Just a couple of bats that have been keeping me busy over the festive period.

Firstly is this copy to a degree of a 1980’s Newbery. This cleft had some damage to back and edge so required a small edge profile so I created a high spine small edge profile. Grade 2 and finished at 2lb 9oz with a very thick oval handle and huge toe 31mm at centre of toe, edge was 21mm at peak and 17mm at shoulder and toe edge.

Secondly was this grade 3 modern “Pro” shape very similar to the SL06 I make but with a mid/low middle really pleased with how this one came out as was a bit of a pig to work for some reason, shape really flows well and will be around 2.10.5 - 2.11 when finished ( it’s currently available at present time)

Evening all. These are a selection that I’m making to exhibit at Suffolk Crickets first expo in late January. These are a selection of my AM18 and SL06 profiles.

This is a super light SL06 currently 2lb 4oz, 32mm edges. Grade 1. Full profile working on the basis this year that I’d rather offer fully shapes than edge size as I personally fell that just offers a better all round bat on the stock shapes and I’ll leave the EH21 as the concaved profile.

Recently attended my county’s first cricket expo, was great to be alongside Gray Nicolls, NV play and lots of companies with so much experience and insight into the game. Had a great conversation around this new softs regulations but any way.

So I was able to display my full range and here are a couple from the day. Both G2 and both 2.10

I think I have told you before but, while I really like the branding, that still just says 'SLOG' when I see it.

I don’t get it mentioned a lot but I do see what you mean will look to change that on the next sticker run which will probably be towards back end of this year.  Thanks for the positive feedback on the branding.

Cheers mate, fuller shapes over edge size these days. Need to invest in better camera or upgrade the phone but really pleased with how these are coming out shape wise now since some investment in some Windsor tools, better polisher and new sander as well.

Big fan of that, as much as I love a big edge there's something so much more aesthetically pleasing about a full shape. Purely psychological but the confidence of a full shape does it for me way more than massive edges too.

So been busy finally getting around to creating a website which will be launched soon so I had to make a few bats to show the range.

SL06 modern “pro” shape

AM18 - 1/2inch shorter blade full profile

EH21 - now currently iv got a few partmades that have a flat face press so I’m using these for this model to give a slightly bigger edge to a more traditional profiles bat. We’ll see what customers feedback is like on these as the feedback on the clefts iv used since creating WW has been amazing.

Couple of bats made up this week.

First up is this outrageous Butterly. Not sure iv ever seen a nicer one especially with no blemishes on the face just on the rear and is actually covered by the toe sticker. This finished 2lb 9oz with 34mm edge 20mm toe at the edge and 26mm in the centre in the SL06 profile but the customer asked for the traditional round toe shape from the AM18 instead of the square/flat toe as standard on this shape.

Next up was this AM18 grade 2. Finished at 2lb 14.2 and his current match bat is 2.14.3 so very happy how I managed to basically get it spot on weight wise. This is 1/2 inch shorter blade longer handle set up and has so far this year been the more popular shape. Seems the outside forum world is catching onto the benefits of slightly shorter blades. This bat has 37mm edge, 23mm toe at edge and 29mm at centre of toe, customer specified a thick toe.

Oh my Chris - some absolute stunners, I love how the shapes have evolved.
Clearly lots of thought has gone into what us batters like best.
