It may also be that his bat had work done on it which is why it has no labels. But this seems unlikely as he's in India and would be able to get replacements quickly

Isn't TON how SS brand their bats outside of India? Maybe not as simple as that?

He also posted a picture on his Instagram just before the match of him coming out the nets with the blank bat clearly on show, if he was still sponsored I don't think he'd be rushing to show that off, he also doesn't post that frequently so you could interpret that as him highlighting that he's after a new sponsor, I'm probably overthinking this a bit though. You would say though that an away series in India not long before the IPL is probably the ideal time to be looking for a new sponsor these days

Surprised that he's still not got a new sponsor, I thought one of the other Indian brands would've picked him up by the 3rd test

Why would any big brand try and get Bairstow when his test career is up in the air. And he’s declining physically so he’s unlikely to reach the next 50 year World Cup.
Brands can bide their time and wait for Bairstow to become a t20 mercenary then pick him up on better terms.

Saw he had a couple of bats made by an Indian manufacturer recently (ZF or ZS, I forget). So he may not have anyone lined up yet.

As others have said, surprised someone like DSC haven’t picked him up, still a big name in the IPL.


Going to cost SS a bit in unusable stickers with his name on, so many of the retail bats had it on 😬
