Loving all the live streaming. Watched Darren Stevens get past 50, now watching James Vince hopefully pass 200.

67 year old Darren Stevens approaching a century...if the tail can stay with him...

67?

A quick look and 44 seems to be the magic number. Great innings.

Probably the same reason why someone with the surname Tendulkar got an IPL gig, Compton got an England test spot etc...

For every Stuart Broad, there are several Fabian Cowdrey’s.

kind of annoying that the live streams Ive watched are filed at such an angle that the umpire blocks the pitch of the ball and the lower half of the stumps !?!?

Without checking, did he score a fair number of runs last summer?

Bit unfair on Compton that, FC average of 40 over a pretty long career and a test average just shy of 30 isn't much worse than most of the other candidates to open for England have managed in recent years. Certainly didn't disgrace himself.

Perhaps. However, the point still stands - there is so much nepotism in cricket it’s untrue.

People would be creaming their pants if this was a Test match.

Compton was very decent over a long period as @Jimbo mentioned. His name may of opened a few doors early but not over a long period.

He may of been picked to get higher in a period where Bayliss wanted attacking players, perhaps not the style England wanted at that time.

Most professional cricketers have benefitted from being from the 'right' family simply by the fact that they have had a private education paid for.
