hoping by season isnt over before its begun, my calf 'popped' while running between the wickets yesterday and cannot put weight on it today.

annoying as finally found some timing with that bat and got a few overs under my belt

Even more annoying is playing in the rain for 4 weeks then get injured the week it looks like the suns coming out

Hopefully you won’t be out of action for too long, in my experience calf injuries are one of the quicker healers

Proper bowlers' pitch for us on Saturday, only 111 runs across both innings. Uncovered pitch, torrential rain overnight and a council maintained outfield. Just a shame that we conceded 80 of the runs scored...

had issues with the same calf before, i think it scar tissue on the muscle where its previously been torn, hopefully in a few days will feel a lot better as our availability has been awful this season

We managed to sneak in a 25 over game in before the heavens opened yesterday!
A solid mix of 6 adults and 5 U15's, the Four bowlers from the U15 took 8 out of the 10 wickets taken by our team and we kept the oppo down to 80, My lad who usually opens the bowling for the Sat 3rd's Kept wicket for the 1st time in adult cricket due to a late injury and conceded just the 5 bys.

I opened the batting on a very bowling friendly pitch, slow low bounce pitch with the odd one popping up made it hard work, I plugged away and got 26 and we managed to get the victory with few overs to spare, but it was squeaky bum time for a few overs.

Good game though.

Just finished friendly game vs Cheam. Bowling figures 7-5-3-0. Bowling went well with flight variations and a couple of quicker straight deliveries.
Batting wise scored 15no at no11.

We got 162-6 off our 40 overs, pretty pleased as skipper with our batting order. Opened up the bowling for us and went 8 overs, 8 maidens, 3 for 0. Don't think I'll ever do that again so pretty thrilled. Won by 60 runs and the atmosphere around the team was brilliant. Really looking forward to the rest of our season now.

Wow! Well bowled!

Thanks mate, was pretty thrilled especially as I've really been trying to work on my bowling this year.

Quite heavily indebted to the lad at short cover who pulled off a couple of absolutely blinding stops having not played for two years!

Hadn’t played for 3 weeks, terrible day at the office for me! Couldn’t pitch the bloody ball where I wanted it to be, ended up with 1-35 off 5 which really annoyed me!
Week of bowling in nets ahead, and when I’m on the road with work try and find a local club to where I am to see if I can just net with them to keep the arm turning over

Today's T20 experience was good, me and 2 other under 15 spinners bowled very well, between us, we shared 7 wickets.
My bowling figures were 4-20-2, those wickets came from an plumb lbw, around the wicket to a left hander who was batting well, luckily 1st ball to him. Other wicket was an classical leg side stumping by another junior, which was indeed excellently done as batsman was coming out of the crease, ball pitched middle stump and turned to the leg side.
We lost the game but very happy to see junior spinners at work!

First match down. 4 Overs bowled, one ball faces. Ended the match with SR 100, 1 off 1. 2 wickets in my 4 overs going for an economy of 6 though.

Had my first run out of the season, coincidentally aligning with the great weather.

Lost toss and got put in, grass was a bit longer as the gang mowers have been out of action.

Opened up, got 63 off 101 but so unfit I was absolutely blowing by the end of it. Had two all run fours as well in there.

Team total of 230 off 45 overs.

Bowled the opposition out for 150, so a nice little win. First one of the season for the team.

Lost the toss and bowled first today. They hit 240 off 40 overs. Their opener who I’m certain was a ringer hit a chanceless 100 and it could well have been 300 had we not got him soon after. Personally got a run out and a very bruised hand from a stop at cover.

Opened the batting and couldn’t believe how bad the track was as I had two go under my bat off a length & one rear up and nearly take my head off. Have a few bruises from the peppering I got. Was soon out for 10 & we managed to get to 180 thanks to some generous part-time bowling.

Middled a full toss with my lovely new Woodstock bat though
