After all the fast paced hundreds in test matches, it was nice to see something from a bygone era, a beautifully crafted hundred with patience, lots of singles, and effective lower order batting. Well done Saud Shakeel, another new signing by GN showcasing their new bats. I think they said he went for 100 balls without scoring a boundary at one stage. Played the situation well.

What were Stokes and Smith thinking this morning??? :o

Slightly comical dismissal of Leach, stumped off a v wide delivery - was it given as a wide??

Slightly endearing sight of Leach keeping both hands firmly on the bat handle when trying to get back into his crease (akin to what I sometimes see in U10 matches where the players keep both hands in exactly the right position from the time they walk out to when they finish batting!) - might have done better to use just one hand to try and ground his bat back.

Well, something for Eng to work on, get more runs from Leachy!  ;)

39 wickets between Sajid Khan and Noman Ali, in just 2 matches (albeit on real Bunsen Burners!)

What a pair of picks (I mean the pitches of course!!!  :D)

Still, Eng had 3 spinners in this match (plus a useful Root to "pitch in"), compared to really just 2 spinners on Pakistan's side (and a fielding-only leggie). You gotta make full use of what you have in front of you.

I think just leave the Eng spinners out there to learn their craft when the rest of the team come back home.

Pakistan wins.

Poignant quote from Rameez Raja - "England didn't know how to play spin. England didn't know how to bowl spin" - kinda sums up the last 2 matches in 2 sentences.

I’m not sure what to make of it all. Pakistan desperately needed a victory any way they could with everything going on behind the scenes and on field. Nice to see a different pitch rather than the roads we usually see. I don’t think this is sustainable though, you won’t get these pitches elsewhere, will be interesting to see what the actual plan is going forward, if there is one…

I know there are more important things to be worried about; but does Rehan Ahmed have a different bat sponsor every time he plays for England?

England have just picked an all-rounder who averages 25 with the bat and 96 with the ball. :o

(Cue lots of "I don't mind that" comments.)

He is only 21 to be fair and I believe this set up pick as much on belief and character if not more so than stats etc. I didn’t think he did to bad in the ODI series vs Australia who are the best white ball side currently
