Aus also carrying a pile opf passengers at the moment, an allrounder that can't bowl, an opener that can't open and a couple of batters who seem to have forgotten how to bat.

India also have batting issues but the most pressing is probably to find a back up option for Bumrah better than what they've fielded so far. Not sure Reddy KUmar's batting is doing enough to cover for his bowling.

As for Bumrah, he’s taken 21 wickets at 11 thus far. And in his 10 Tests in Australia, 53 wickets at 17.

Decent…

After Perth, it’s been all Australia. Absolutely annihilated India in the day/night Test in Adelaide. Start took a 6fer with his favourite pink ball. Travis Head continued personal mission against India with another match winning century.

The third Test in Brisbane was heavily effected by rain but Australia again dominated. Steven Smith, finally, registered his 33rd Test century. Travis Head hammered yet another century against the Indians. Bumrah took a 6fer. But India’s batting is pathetic aside from KL Rahul.
Australia’s hopes were crushed after Bumrah and Deep added 40 odd to save the follow on. Australia tried to manufacture a result but rain was the victory.

Josh Hazlewood once again got injured...and will miss the remainder of the series.

R Ashwin announced his retirement with immediate effect. Marvellous career.
.

Can you imagine the embarrassment of rain saving you from losing a series?! Definitely not something you boys have ever benefitted from eh?

Did it happen? Or did the Poms bottle the first test? 🤔

First two I think you'll find. But after that it was all England and only the rain saved the Aussies 😉

So Nathan McSweeney has been dropped and Sam Konstas will debut at the MCG.
Seems somewhat ridiculous that Khawaja dodged a bullet over McSweeney but I guess it is what it it…
Also if the ‘G’ is more docile than the previous three surfaces, McSweeney will have the right to feel aggravated.
Sean Abbott, Jhye Richardson and Beau Webster also into the squad again.

Because Khawaja is 38 and will not make the Ashes - regardless of the hopium of the Australian selectors.
Secondly Khawaja has been worse than McSweeney.
Khawaja averages 12, McSweeney 14.
Not much to pick between but the guy that’s 25 and batting out of position should be given a longer run rather than a fading veteran.
And I’m a big Khawaja fan…

Is that a flying pig I'm seeing or have you just posted something I agree with 😂

Really harsh on McSweeney and very lenient treatment for Khawaja.

Finding myself agreeing with this. Uzzie seems to be getting a free pass.

Likely that marsh will be dropped for Webster. Carey will bat at 6.
It is going to be really hot so the extra bowler will be needed.

I can't see the thinking behind dropping the only player in the side under the age of 30 when he is 3 games into his test career.

I wouldn't judge someone's potential to play at this level based on opening the batting against Bumrah in this series. Reeks of the sort of selection methods England employed in the 1990s

So I projected Khawaja wouldn’t make the Ashes, so it’s even more likely (if Australia qualifies) Khawaja will not even make the WTC final…
In that case McSweeney or Bancroft or whomever comes in cold…
