Have to bear in mind that these greats of the modern game play in India, and in the Second innings i.e Days 4/5, the ball is likely to turn big and the pitch will deterioate for uneven bounce. Therefore, your best players of spin i.e Laxman, Tendulkar and Gambhir are likely to prosper more than Dhoni/Dravid and who ever the 6th batsman is......

Sachin has been the best batsman in the world for so long now and he hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. He definitely shouldn't be on his 'way out'

I think you're missing my point. The guy is getting on. What is he now, 37? He may go on for another year, maybe not. I think it's time the Indian selectors gave some young blood a chance. I think Lax, Dravid, Sachin should give some youngsters a go. I don't know if you've seen, but the new breed have the potential to be better than the above. They might not be, but they have HUGE potential.

Dravid: 43.53, down from 52.86, 5 out of 29 hundreds.
Sehwag: 30.80, down from 53.90, 1 out of 21 hundreds.
Dhoni: 38.52, down from 40.82, no hundreds (doesn't bat above 7 most of the time, so he's less culpable, plus he normally rearguards because of the above failures.)
Laxman: 50.47, up from 47.40, 5 out of 16 hundreds.
Gambhir: 54.04, up from 51.36, 5 out of 9 hundreds.
Yuvi does well out of it as well, but he doesn't get enough of a game.
If you ask me, it's time for the old legends to move on, Pujara, Mukund, Kohli, Badri, Rohit, Vijay, etc. To get a go...

Their averages may dip in the 2nd innings, but thi scan be down to deteriorating pitches. It's common knowledge that Indian wickets are at their best on days 2 and 3. Furthermore it's often very difficult on days 4 and 5.

Rohit is a mug. Vijay and Mukund are only in the squad due to being from Chennai, where the chairman of selectors is from. Chennai's wicet is one of the flattest in India. Other guys in contention are Kohli and Pandey. They play at the tougher scoring grounds, Delhi and Bangalore.

Exactly Sachin is twice the batsman Waugh was. He will retire from ODI's after the 2011 WC.
