Re: Mr Somerfield:

Me thinks Play Cricket is slightly wrong. How many league games a year !?

Most is 38 in a season, which is not out of the realms of possibility.  Saturday, Sunday, Evening leagues all add up in the end.

Point taken, I was thinking of just Saturday's as that's all I get to play these days. May get the odd mid week 20/20 but that's not classed as a league.

Top stats.

Our (Marlow Vets) overseas helped himself to a cheeky ton on Sunday - batting 8. Included 32 off one over, he hit the first 4 balls for 6 but couldn't finish it off. His bat was a plank, so we swapped for the last few overs.

Being a Vets team we are a bit rubbish (to be playing Cherwell Div2 teams) so it's probably not a surprise he dominated the averages:-

Man of the match?

Played against Somerfield a few weeks ago...

Aussie guy.

Nothing special really but bowls decent wheels, full and swings it in.

Most players of that pace playing div 2 cricket would have a lot of success. I don't think he'd get on half as well in the prem.

not the ideal cup final, but exciting none the least, from yesterday. Beckwithshaw are about 25 points clear at the top of the league, Burley are 2nd or 3rd I think
Check out N. Brook's figures, does this on a regular occurrence

Not a bad knock from James Hildreth

And took a bit of tap on the bowling front...

Our very own Alridd was playing in this.

Just shows the quality of 1st XI County players! When they play on a slightly lower level, they are capable of destroying the other team!
Can't imagine how many he would have hit at the level I play at? I reckon he would of hit 500 or more on his own!  :(

When I played Lashings James Marshall (not even a count player anymore) and Ian Buttler (lower order batsman) smashed it to every part of the ground and put something like 220 on in 20 overs without even breaking a sweat. Just unreal talent that you don't realise when just watching.
