My team lost the toss and bowled first today.

Opposition posted 238-7 off their 50 overs. The number 5 making an unbeaten 100.
I personally went 10 overs - 0 maidens - 2-28

We chased them down after 37 overs, our opener getting 84 and number 4 making 45 off 29 balls.

We won, I was home by 7.30 and I still found myself not enjoying my cricket today. I don't know what it is, but I've fallen out of love with cricket a bit this season and am playing because I feel I have to, rather than because I want to.

After getting 5 wickets with the 2nds last week, I got to bowl for the 1st team today. Managed 6-30 off my 9 overs. Unfortunately, my batting wasn't up to par again this week, managing only 13 runs. We lost... :(

Chug, chug, chug - another Chertsey 3XI win today, captained by yours truly Fattus Brearlus.

We bowled the oppo out for 151 and got them for 6 down. Yours truly burgled another 4.

Me "thanks Isaac"
boy "yes daddy you don't want to be out first ball again"

Thanks for that. !!

Shocking day on a shocking pitch(our own)

We was put in to bat. I got a golden first ball off game. One jumped off a length and shouldered it to a spectacular diving catch from the stumper!

We was 118 all out in 39 overs. Amusingly our no.11, a u17 )that probably had concusion to go with his two black eyes after being beat up the night before) top scored on 25!(he can't bat when fit)

The oppo knock them off 5 down with 3 overs left. Closer than it seems. As there no3 who finished 46* got dropped 5 times. 4 while he was still in single figures.
Plus we also bowled 24 wides!!!

We was atrocious....... Thankfully it was a cup game and not the league.

Tied game today. All my fault - I dropped their only batsman twice.

299/9 in 45, our opener with a dodgy hip got 102. I got 52 and happy with that. We bowled them out for 140. Good day at the office. 2 of our players got golden ducks though.

Lovely day for cricket, but needed plenty of drinks breaks. Pitch was rock hard and fielding on an uneven outfield was 'challenging'.

We won the toss and bowled. Oppo all out for 189 off 41 overs, I ended up with 2 for 45 off 10, not great but had at least 2 catches dropped and those 2 wickets were their top scoring bats.

I had to leave early as out at friends 50th so went in at 6, swung at every ball I faced (which wasn't many!) and missed a straight one that I would normally play sensibly. Fortunately the lads after me did the business and we won with 10 overs to spare.

Finally got that elusive second century yesterday and a personal best as well. Also took two catches keeping so overall a very good day   :)

We lost the toss and got put in on what looked like a really tacky green wicket after Friday's storm but after the first 5 overs it didn't misbehave at all and we posted our highest total of the season (299). We then rolled them for 118 and were in the pub for 7. These are the days you play for!

And to add it was the first game using one of my B3 butterflies and it is a cannon already!. Thanks @The Doctor

Won our fourth game in a row yesterday, after a horrid start to the season things are getting back on track. We batted first, had an early collpase to 30-3, our skipper rebuilt the innings and a young 15 year old came in an slapped a quick 50 at the end, leaving us on 174.
The oppo got off to an absolute flyer, 50-0 off 8, and we thought we was in lots of trouble. Our left arm spinner and myself then procedded to slow the run rate up, himself taking 5-26 off 15, and me 2-40 off 13, and we then won by 20 runs

Played a Sunday friendly today, with two late drop outs meaning we only had 9 men. After 15 overs of fielding with 9, one of the oppo swapped sides so we had 10 for 25 overs. Thanks to the Sunday skip giving everyone a bowl, we conceded 247. Our innings got off slowly and we eventually lost, 20 runs short. The 15 overs with 2 men down basically cost us.

Of more note was the white trash scum that walked around the boundary and was missed by an aerial four by about 3 feet. He took great offence that no-one had shouted to warn him (they had, three or four people as it happens) and took particular offence to the two players on the boundary of Indian origin. He didn't seem to think he had any responsibility to look out for a cricket ball as he was walking past.

At tea, he came out of the social club bar and stated to have a very loud go at the skipper, making threats to cut people up, to quote, " That ain't a threat, it's a promise".  He was also racist towards our skipper and a couple of others in the team. I've never heard someone make so much unpleasant noise after not being hit by a cricket ball. The joys of playing on a public ground.

Could ' White trash scum ' not be seen as a slightly racist remark?!  :-[
