Played a Sunday friendly today, with two late drop outs meaning we only had 9 men. After 15 overs of fielding with 9, one of the oppo swapped sides so we had 10 for 25 overs. Thanks to the Sunday skip giving everyone a bowl, we conceded 247. Our innings got off slowly and we eventually lost, 20 runs short. The 15 overs with 2 men down basically cost us.
Of more note was the white trash scum that walked around the boundary and was missed by an aerial four by about 3 feet. He took great offence that no-one had shouted to warn him (they had, three or four people as it happens) and took particular offence to the two players on the boundary of Indian origin. He didn't seem to think he had any responsibility to look out for a cricket ball as he was walking past.
At tea, he came out of the social club bar and stated to have a very loud go at the skipper, making threats to cut people up, to quote, " That ain't a threat, it's a promise". He was also racist towards our skipper and a couple of others in the team. I've never heard someone make so much unpleasant noise after not being hit by a cricket ball. The joys of playing on a public ground.
