First game of the year. A massive win. And an innings that @ProCricketer1982  would shudder at.

Oppo were 36 for 6 at rain. And scrapped to 115 all out. With 11 overs left. Leaving us 57 overs yo chase.

I opened and departed after 8 overs on 68(31 balls 11 4s and 2 6s). We eventually won by 7 wickets in 17 overs.

Well we bowled first today

The opposition finished 271-8 off their 45 overs.

Our opening bowler had 2-14 off their 9 overs.
I personally took 2-43 off my 9, including getting their overseas out and bowling at the death (a job I love!)

In reply we were 190-6 off 30. The match was then abandoned as the heavens opened.

We needed just over 6 runs an over, about what we'd been going at, for the last 15  overs, but with only 4 wickets in hand we're not sure where we were on the Duckworth Lewis method.

13 and run out in a very similar fashion to the ian bell situation against india, i ran to the non strikers end turned round for some reason assumed assumed the ball had gone for 4 wandered back with no intention of a run to the strikers end only to see a fielder asking the umpire if the wall was live followed by him running me out. Now i know i was a compete idiot in this situation but am i unrealistic in thinking its a bit unsporting as it was a clear mistake with no intention of going for another run?

Batted first and were 4/4. Ended on a paltry 121/9 off our 40. We got them 60/7 off of 25 before it was rained off. Definitely a bowlers day.

My first league game today, we batted first and got 198.  I got 54* from 72 balls.

They didn't bother to chase and managed 98-6 from 45 overs, we bowled well though.

Happy to start with a win

Intra-mural game today but only managed to get 18 players with 4 guest players from our supposedly oversubscribed club membership  :o

Posted 239 runs in 40 overs and managed to skittle them for 180 odd... captained and played keeper which i haven't done for a while... beautiful warm sunny day in prague compared to last weekend where we froze thanks to cold overcast and windswept day...

Great friendly banter so all who played enjoyed themselves if only our league games were played the same way...

However managed to play onto my stumps 2nd game in a row from wideish balls  so need to learn to leave or am playing through my shots too early with my new bat..  >:(

Easy win today, we got about 275 all out off 41 overs and bowled them out for 50 odd.

43 for me which I'm really pleased with as I've only had two nets pre season so thought I'd struggle. Batted better as well than usual, more proper cricket shots and off side boundaries instead of everything leg side. Few nice straight drives which went for 4 before I played cross line and got bowled.

Friendly game today, batted first and scored 196 which included 5 ducks! I managed to get a good nut, offcutter that pitched on off and hit leg. 4 ball duck.

Bowled well, finished with figures of 2 for 32 off 8. Content with my bowling considering I bowled up hill into a strong wind.

First league game tomorrow!

It was really boring, they didn't even get a batting point as they start at 120.

We put our spinners on so we got through the overs before it rained.

To be honest we don't normally get that negative cricket in our league

How did you get on Andy? Any wickets?

Personally did not score many but took a good catch when fielding.

As a team we played well in almost constant drizzle. The weather was poor and we stuck it out fielding first. Finally got the reward winning with just over 1 over to spare.

Our young bowlers stuck to it despite enduring a wet ball.

Close game played in good spirit, what Saturdays are for apart from the weather.

Hate games like that - appreciate bonus points etc but if a side has no aspirations in April there is something seriously wrong!

Of course 😉

To be fair it was the first time I've bowled on grass since last season so took a couple of overs to get into it but took 2 for 30 odd and did get it going both ways off the pitch.

Was in Mansfield bowled them out for 180 ish but was off for rain twice (had tea at 6.15pm) so it became a timed game we were 113 for 4 off 22 overs by 8pm in the gloom. Took the decision to drop down the order & send a couple of the young lads in so didn't bat (padded up just in case but wanted to keep 2 jumpers and a woolly hat on! The benefit of being skipper lol).

That sounds like a long day mate.

Could have been a good game in the making too
