Up and down season so far really, broke my ring finger on my right hand 2 weeks ago so missed a game or two.

150 runs in the league from 4 knocks @ 37.50, and took 6 wickets @19.50.

However, we are sat on the bottom of the league staring down the barrel of a gun!

Losing draw today sadly, we lost the toss and got sent out to field on what looked to be a batting track. However a great start saw us have them at 24-4, a very well batted partnership then came and steadied the ship getting them to 144 before getting out. We then starved the guy of strike and out of frustration allowed me to proceed to demolish his off stump. Guys came in a swang like fools and got the to 204 before I came back in to clean up and take the remaining wickets. Finished 10-1-39-3, which I was happy with after bowling 5 overs and not looking like taking a wicket at all. Taking me up to 8 wickets in 4 games this season so far.

@calcurtis98 seen the scorecard, looks like you bowled well. i'd be looking forward to playing you on Saturday but unfortunately drafted into the 1sts again.

Tata's ground has been really tough to score runs on this season, is it always like that?

Decided to finally sign up after lurking for a while. Not a bad start to the season, started off with 3 wickets in 3 games for the 4th XI at about 15, moved up to opening the bowling for the 3rd XI on Saturday, taking 3-33 off 8. Pretty decent from a team perspective as well, won 3 out of the four league games I've played (neither 3rds or 4ths have won without me, I must be good  ???)

Good to see a couple of guys playing in the same league as us as well (Surrey 3rd XI West), look forward to playing against them later this season.

Beat top of the League on Saturday. Bowled them out for 160 odd, i came on to hoover up at the end and got a couple. Then opened the batting for the first time (normally bat 4 or 5, but no other options, so took it up myself) and got 107*, with us chasing down the 160 in 22 overs.

Excellent days cricket, being skipper makes it all the sweeter too!

Egham 3rd/ 4th XI (VC of the 4s). Beat Esher on Saturday, which was awesome. They've got two properly quick openers.

Yup - just worked it out actually!

Aha!  well, Egham are our arch-rivals so you are now my deadly enemy.

Felix on here plays for Kempton - I'm not sure who else on here is in the same league. I must see when we play you.

Yeah, I think we're playing you at the Rec in July. Should be interesting. I hate that pitch (though not as bad as our home ground for this season). We've been playing at Heathervale in New Haw, and it has ridiculous up and down bounce.

Played 2 matches there last week. First one was a t20 and bowled really well at the death. Then I bowled horrendously yesterday and I don't known what went wrong. Have another match this week so we'll see how it goes

No last year runs were quite easy to come by I suppose, that's a shame didn't realise there was another forumite in my leauge - what team are you playing for?

Due to other commitments I played only my second game of the season last Saturday.  And it my have been my last for a few weeks. Injured my arm at nets the Wednesday and it flared up when I was batting. So I retired hurt for 7.
We also lost by 6 runs, so a bad day all round.

Panteg matey. I played at Tata a few weeks ago for the firsts and it was an unbelievably difficult deck to score runs on. We got 120ao and you took about 42 overs to chase it down.

So, it seems the Sheriff of Nottingham is turning out for my old pub team tomorrow. Sounds like he's a great laugh.

I'm yet to play my first game of the season as I live overseas and won't be back in the UK till mid July, I'm very envious of all the reports and success from the early season.  I'll probably only get to play 6/7 games (fingers crossed) this summer so going to take a new approach when batting of just sticking around and not playing anything attacking....not sure how that will go down with my team mates  :)

Keep up the good work everyone!!!
