Our skipper won the toss and put us in on a green wet track, no more to be said.

We had a friendly game scheduled yesterday, with confirmation from their fixture sec on Monday only to have no team show up on Sunday leaving us without a game. No phone call or cancellation, just didn't bother turning up. Wouldn't answer phone calls, reply to emails or anything. just absolutely terrible behaviour.

The Windermere CC from North London, you have 11 very pissed off blokes round our way. You won't be invited back and we'll be reporting you to the CCC as well as sending you an invoice for the cost of tea's, pitch preparation and loss of revenue from match fees.

If any of you chaps have a friendly lined up against them I'd be pretty wary.

Played a decent friendly match yesterday and I opted to bat first after recent previous successes when defending a total. Just lately I have changed my mentality if I we bat bat first in friendles, I don't mix around the order but approach the game as if it was a league match and it has brought success plus importantly our players seem happy. Yesterday our innings focused around our opener who got 70 whilst No.4 blasted a quick-fiire 40 and few others chipped in small double figure scores meaning we ended up with a very healthy 182 all out in just under 40 overs.

I opted to open the bowling with the autistic lad I support and his 8 overs went for just 13 runs including 4 maidens as he proved very difficult to get away. Unfortunately since he got 3-42 from 12 overs in a league match earlier in the season, he's really struggled but on that day I was umpiring so today I stood at mid-on which allowed me to keep talking him and telling him to focus and concentrate. It's a shame he didn't any wickets but the tight early start meant the opposition were then always behind the run rate and we eventually won by about 40 runs or so.

Yeah they are associated to the pub called The Windermere in Wembley. They have a facebook group but it's closed. We had a really good game against them last year which went down to the last over, no Idea why they would stitch us up and just no show. Really very poor behaviour.

Our fixture secretary is a very persistent man... The only answer that will excuse them not even making a phone call is if they all died in a freak accident. It's bloody horrendous behaviour and if my club acted like that I'd probably leave.

Lost yesterday after batting first and posting 171 all out a decent innings by there number 4 allowed them to win by 5 wickets with a few overs to spare. On the upside it was a good match played in the right spirit and enjoyed being able to look at some of @simonmay5 beautiful bats including a lovely dark edition phantom

Been a very good season for me so far! I'm 21 but I've only been playing cricket for 4 years... previous years average/runs scored/high score tops out at 8/74/26 respectively!

However in 20 matches played this year I've scored a total of 370runs at an average of 18.5 (not groundbreaking but good for me!), including 2 61's (and a bloody 49!) and 3 of the last 3 innings being for the 1st XI and not the 2s  :D

Also, both sides in my club are going for promotion to the Div 5 of the Kent Cricket league, both being 2nd and a long way clear of 3rd in their respective tables so should be a good season :)

Finally got a game. Captain chose to field first on a mudbath in the hope that the forecast rain came to give us a draw. Rain didn't come and the humidity level made fielding unbearable and with only 2 full time bowlers, we struggled to take wickets with the oppo ending on 194/4 after their 45 overs. In typical fashion, we had a batting collapse and ended up all out for 103. I got a 7 ball duck, out LBW to a full toss that hit my inner thigh, still sat here fuming about it now (too low to pull, too high to drive, tried to glance it into a gap behind square leg and missed). I can't seem to get a scoring shot off at all at the moment.

If anyone gets offered to go play cricket on a hot sunny day at clacton ever, turn it down! Spent most of the day chasing leather, I managed to get myself another 100 off my bowling! What should normally be a 75 minute journey, turned out to be 2 and half hours as everyone seemed to want to go the beach and it's one road in one road out! Awful day, made half decent by the fact I managed to eat everything on the McDonald saver menu on the way home

A hard slog today that ended in another winning draw.

Put on 181 for the third wicket, out with 5 overs to go for 88. Stupidly I was playing for the team... We were 94 off 30 and ended up 233-5 off 45. Good fun game, not sure the oppo were happy, blocking to 120-9!

Yet again my registered side had a free week so I turned out for a team that I have played for previously this season (against another which I have also played for on a free week).

The opposition opted to bat first after winning the toss which given the weather forecast was a surprise. However this allowed the home skipper the opportunity to open our bowling with a chap who was 80 years old today. He had a 5 over spell picking up 2 wickets but what was more remarkable was his agility in the field as he got down to everything the opposition sent in his direction. In contrast, I somehow pulled a side muscle in my first over and had you turned up an hour into the match, you would have thought I was the one celebrating becoming an octogenarian.

However I am someone who lives for his Saturday afternoon bowling spell so decided to come off just one stride and bowled a tidy if not spectacular 10 overs, conceding 24 runs. Picked up just the single wicket, bowling a left hander with my first delivery from around the wicket to him and I also picked up the same batsman in very similar circumstances when my own team played today's opposition a few weeks back.

We bowled out the opposition for exactly 150 in the final over of the permitted 40 but soon after tea it started raining but everyone else seemed keen to continue, even despite the rumble of thunder and lightning in the distance. The loss of the 1st wicket should have seen the players come in as the lightning was getting closer but the match didn't last much longer as the heavens opened and that meant 2 points each.

After getting my first 50 for ages a couple of weeks ago, racked up another yesterday! After being forced to field against the champions-elect on a sweltering afternoon, some toothless bowling and ropey fielding left us chasing a daunting 261. I was hardly fluent but anchored the chase and nurdled 1s and 2s in big 2nd and 3rd wicket stands to leave us needing 7 an over with 12 overs left. But just after losing our no4 I got over-anxious about having to take over leading the chase, ran down the track and missed. Our middle order couldn't get going and disappointingly we just fizzled out and ended up 16 short. Nice to be in the runs again but feels flat when it's in a losing cause.

Good easy win yesterday, bowled oppos out for 64
Knocked them off for the loss of two wickets
One more game, one more win and the leagues ours again

On a side note, second team this year I've played against with a blatant chucker!

Oppo won the toss and elected to bat in the heat. No real surprise there.

They were 100 without loss at drinks at 17 overs. Skipper bought on the spinners. Myself and another lad who bowls cutters on a length. Oppo ended up getting 200-9 off their 52 overs. I managed to bowl 17 overs straight and got 6-62 which was a nice return.

I wasn't needed to bat as I am finding myself batting down the order for this new team we knocked it down off 34 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Good win in the end and keeps the promotion race on.
