I hated cricket for several hours today until watching my club 1s chase well.
Longest away trip in our division to the best in the league and we only had nine men. Skittled for 41 in just over 20 overs. 4 ducks. Got my second of the season, this one an improvement as I lasted until my second ball. Textbook back foot defensive apart from apparently a too angled bat, absolutely nailed it back onto my off stump. Oppo chased before tea in 5.3 overs so an hours drive each way, a duck and didn't bowl.
Worst thing is I feel like a score is coming, its just actually getting the score that is the problem!

I scored again today.

The opposition won the toss and batted first, making 285-9. They're overseas player getting 58 batting at 5, the numbers 4 and 6 getting out on 49 each and a very quickfire 37 at the death from a hard hitting number 8.

In reply we were 147 all out. Their spinner taking 4 wickets and nobody making a telling contribution. Onwards and upwards, I may use coloured pens next week...

Just been told my brother took a 7fer so feeling a bit happier, he's known as 1-fer so its a bit of a change for him. First league game as captain for him as well!

Faced 8 balls. Scored 9 runs, played two cracking cover drives for 4, thought it was gonna be a good day, then got one that pitched short and pee rolled on to off!

I just love cricket.

Lost by six wickets, oppo chased down our 180 with 3 overs left.

Debut for my new club and scored 52* and had figures of 4fer 8 runs. Very chuffed. Win with max batting and bowling points!

Great to get some warm weather and a decent wicket back at our home ground for the first time this season. Good game we got 225 for 9, 109 for me in a 194 partnership with our U15s county opening batsmen. Better than last weeks duck and the first ton for a decade I think.

In reply bowled them out for 155 with 3 for 19 for me to wrap things up. Great performance against a decent opposition for our young side

Well, after she'd loads of runs pre season I got a 7 ball 2. Bowled off my stretton foxes!! Never seen it other than on tv but it was going down leg, hit the bottom of the thigh guard and hit leg stump.. Ooppss

Ended up being the best game I've been involved in as we were time wasting galore playing for rain and bad light so was great fun intentionally walking to the wrong positions, overly shining the ball etc

Don't get this - usually you're posting about it being an amateur game , giving everyone a game and being Corinthian and now basically your indulging in sharp practice to get higher up the league table?!

It's only bad sportsmanship or against the spirit of the game when someone else does it!  ;)

Copied and pasted to my phone for use when you spout your normal rubbish about the amateur game.

Nah, still think it but just decided that we can't beat it so might as well join in.. Good guys never win after all and with the stroke of bad luck (and verbal send off), other opener not hitting it but given out caught and our number 3 lbw when he hit it just meant the decision was made easier.

Nope, not bothering with the sportsmanship stuff now, no point as it oniy means its my/our game that's ruined. Might as well join in with the majority.
