Our opposition obviously thought it would rain this morning so decided to hold off conceding in the hope of getting a share of the points. Forecast has improved so on the stroke of 11am, they realised the match would not be called off due to the weather and conceded the game. However in trying to find myself another match, I now discover that a couple of their team had got themselves an alternative game last night !!!!

Rain affected draw. We were 119ao in 33 overs, I was out for 38, poor shot hoping out to cow corner. They were 28/2. Our best result in many weeks.
I also ran our number 7 out for a golden duck, then our no. 8 was clean bowled first ball. I feel I started the collapse from 112/5 to 119 all out. Oops.

@Timbo287 was it Ryde or Ryde Cavaliers?
If the latter I can take a good guess at who it was...

Opened up today and scored 66 on a spicy pitch. We hit 229 and we had them 26-4 prior to game being abandoned. We were all over them.

We had the covers on and off 5 times before we gave in. We were obviously well on the way to victory. So extremely frustrating and further harms or promotion hopes as it was a great opportunity to catch the leaders against a weak side.

Lost again. Bognor chased 192/8 6 down, with their skipper getting 126*.
Basically got a TFC today. Didn't bat, meaning I haven't scored a run in July, but given my current form with the bat i can't argue with that. What I took issue with is only being given one over, a random one to try and upset their skippers rhythm before second drinks break, and then hauled off again after. Overseas wanted me on after 14 overs gone, finally got the 33rd over and no more. Jake wasn't happy, I was absolutely fuming. Skipper has apologised, paid my match fee and explained the reasoning, which whilst i can understand where he was coning from I don't necessarily agree with it.

@WalkingWicket37 it was Ryde Cavaliers so you will know who it is. He is playing for Lymington 2’s now.

We lost 4overs yesterday so we were reduced to 38 overs a side. We lost the toss and got put into the field. Oppo made 184 all out we fielded well but they ran well to get to that total. Our reply got off to a shaky start being quickly reduced to 133 for 2. Me and the other opener put on 60 before I edged one to point for 31. The other opener soon followed me back and number 5 and 6 got us up to a position where a win was feasible but our number 5 holed out for 51 and managed to get to 169-5 off our 38. A lot of positives to be taken for us though. If we had played like that every week we would have won more than only 2 games and gives us a bit more hope for the last four games of the season as we aim to avoid relegation

Great team win but a crap day personally, had my first golden duck in I can’t remember how long nicked off following a wide half volley first up when our batting line up was weaker than normally.
Bowled first and Oppo got to 193/9 probably 30 short and so it proved as after a little too order wobble we chased it down for the loss of 8 wickets with 9 overs to spare
Spent most of our innings umpiring as I’m not great at just sitting still and I must say starting to get really fed up with a lot of young players in our league thinking they are some big deal and giving my attitude and mouth all day. Must say I can understand why someone wouldn’t want to umpire even for the £35 the league allows them to charge just not worth it. Any way 2 more wins and that secures another promotion for us which will be 3 in 3 years

An expected loss yesterday against the top of the table team far too good for our division, the game was over at 4.20 which is pretty early ! Two runs in total for me(!) and hit on the thumb, elbow and ha d on a spiteful pitch, we were rolled out for 115.

Then knocked them off for no wickets in 8 overs and some of the hardest hitting I've seen for a while, everything just got dispatched.

The umpire gave me out caught behind when I didn't hit it for the third time this year, however 2 weeks ago I nicked one and didn't walk so you cannot complain can you?

5 more games, we need 3 wins out of 5 to avoid being relegated.

Played yesterday in top of he table clash, we batted first and score 295 off 50. Our number 3 hitting a lovely chanceless ton! Opener hit 50, 4 hit 60 as well. Only 4 down to.

We then rolled them for 150, I took 3-16 off 3.2. One bloke took me for 14 off 3 balls so I clawed it back massively, including me getting him out to so. Was happy to feel good with ball in the hand and pick up a few wickets as well!

Really frustrating day yesterday. Won the toss and bowled on a decent looking track but with rain around playing bottom of the league it was the right thing to do.

Started great with our opening pair bowling really good spells one of them was 9 overs 2-12! At 20 overs oppo were 70 odd for 4 , then at 30 overs 110 for 6. Then suddenly the wheels just completely fell off our bowling and fielding!! We conceded 130 in the last 10 overs!! With a total of 45 extras in the innings! Meant a chase of 240. When it really should have been 160 max.

I think we then took that into our batting and some of the lads just didn't concentrate and played some woeful shots as I watched from the non-strickers end. We fell to 30-4. We ended up 153 all out and I got 79 of those!

With other results it has dropped us down to 4th.

Started the day yesterday with the opposition's best bat gloving a short one that looped through to the keeper and insisting he hadn't hit it, their umpire claiming nothing there either... here we go, you think. Fortunately bowled them out for 182, then me and my opening partner put 99 on in 15 overs before I got a bit greedy and played a massive swipe across the line, bowled. Rain came with us well ahead of the rate at 131-2, good win keeping us just about in the running for promotion. First proper use of bat #003, safe to say she's a goer!

Long day yesterday that wasn't aided by the result.

We batted first and made 193-8 off our 45 overs.
In reply the oppo chased it 4 down with 10 balls to spare.

It was a fair result really, they batted better than us and bowled better than us.

Having checked the league table this morning my side is not 4th bottom of the league (with 4 being relegated) so there's a real relegation battle on our hands.

At least the teas were good yesterday...

After a frustrating start to the season, things seems to be finally falling in place having won 4 out of the last 5 games. Won the game on Saturday against he team placed mid-table. Not the best of pitches with uneven bounce and a few cracks. The skip won the crucial toss and chose to bat first. We scored 199 getting bowled out in 43.4 overs, looking to score quick runs in the end. The opposition came out with the plan to score quickly within the first 10 overs; atleast I assume that must have been the plan when one of the openers walked out with a WilloStix joker style bat in hand :D. The opening bowlers stuck to their task and we had them 3 down within the first 10 overs. In the end they fell short by 8 runs. The highlight of the game was their young keeper hitting our off spinner for a 6 in the final over of the game. Apparently it was the second six he has ever hit in his life, the first being in an U-11 game :D.

Personally, had a decent game beating the batsmen multiple times and bowling at a time when they had consolidated after the early wickets and were looking to go after the bowling. Ended up with figures of 9-0-32-1.

Looking at the league table, I think my team is now 1 position above @WalkingWicket37 's side. Still not out of danger but definitely moving in the right direction!
