Just to throw out there that I have read a number of tweets from people who were there and it isn't very impressive from a Yorkshire perspective.

A racist comment is a racist comment. There is nothing 'snowflake' about objecting to it. It is progress that incidents like this are treated so seriously.

Please see my previous comment on this point; we do not know what was said, and are dealing at this stage with an unsubstantiated allegation.  It is of course right that these things should be investigated, but I do not see why it follows that we should hear that as yet unsubstantiated and detail free allegation and assume that *of course* something terrible has happened, and that heads have GOT to roll over it.  If we are talking about, to use your example, monkey chants, then of course that is horrendous, and arrest and prosecution is the only way forward - but there are numerous other possibilities which would require a much different response.

If you are going to start typecasting and criticising whole 'generations' of people, perhaps take a look at your own?

Which generation is that then?  As far as I'm aware, we've never met and you know nothing about me to assume which generation I should represent in your eyes...

You have the rest of us at a disadvantage then - care to share? :)

Players don’t report fans to umpires on a whim. Clubs dont publicly state theyre reporting an incident to the ECB without being confident that incident took place.

I think it's impossible to expect a club to prevent something like that happening.  Doesn't reflect well on the host team, but ultimately all you need is one moron to ruin things for everyone else.

Hopefully they'll find whomever is responsible and deal with it, but shouldn't be allowed to detract from a game between two top sides that has been hotly contested.

Since you are keen on distancing yourself from the so-called 'snowflake' generation I am assuming you belong to a previous one. You like labelling generations; you give it a name?

Previous 'generations' tolerated more racism in sport. I myself feel shame about not saying anything about incidents I have witnessed.

Would have been more satisfying if Harinath had batted at 5.

By the end of this round of championship games Yorkshire could be in the bottom 2.

So, where have I "tolerated rascism in sport"? I think you will find that all I have advocated is a proper analysis of the evidence.

Almost certain, I should say.

See Rikki Clarke's timeline and also Petermayboys

Can't find Rikki Clarke's, the other one...given his rather offensive characterisation of the local people? 😎 Good job I'm not a snowflake...

And now, being serious, there appear to have been two issues here as the Telegraph refers to day one and those tweets to Patel's innings which was day two - there are also references to nothing been found AND people being ejected.  Curiouser...

Having been there on day one, I am surprised as the atmosphere, apart from the usual "eeeeeeooooooorrrrkkkssshhiirree" crap, was excellent - though that report does refer to an isolated incident.  Can't speak for day two on.
