It's actually an Ibis not sure on the grade but its a big bat.

I went to see Hanif at eclipse all sports a few weeks ago with the intention of picking up a MRF wizard. I ended coming away with his bat from last season 😂

On closer inspection I see the the stickers are different ha!

Yes, easily done! Did you give it the ping test in store?

Will do a fuller one when I get all my kit out. Reece at BTC makes a cracking bat! Will put up a better grain picture later also.

Nice looking sticks, what's their weights and how are they pressed?

Got to clean mine up for nets Olin Tuesday as wrestled one back from our overseas and want to round off the square toe on the other as well.

Skyer has had a new body made too as the last one was cracked from being used as a bat by the plonkers at my club 😆

I do not need more bats, I do not need more bats!!!

This is probably my lot for 2022… there are others in the house however that I pretend are owned by my sons

I’m also a sucker for unbranded softs.

@t2ylo  - loving the dropped shoulders on the Garrard - very reminiscent of the Newberry TT - are all their bats like that?

Turns out there were slightly more bats in the “owned by the kids” pile than I expected

Ooooh @t2ylo  - you cheeky monkey!!!  Are you able to reveal the origin of the Quantock 2nd from left bat - or it's specs?

The one I've got from them is, and more widely they do seem to be.

My bats for the season, it will probably be the 2 DSC's that go in the bag. Just waiting my new duffle then I'll post a full kit photo.

How’re you finding the dsc bats, heard a lot of good things about them!

2.13.5 and 2.14 respectfully. Shorter blade so picks up nicely indeed.

Reece does seem to make a very nicely balanced bat, I'd picked up a shorter blade BTC from eBay and despite being heavier than I usually use it does pick up very nicely.

Really impressed with them to be honest, first Indian bats I've had but really like them. The lower grades seem great value for money.

Compared to some of the kit on here, mine pales in comparison. But things like batting pads, gloves and boots I do try to use until they're falling apart simply because it's when they're at their comfiest imo. I wish I had more bats, but we've just had our first child and so budget is tight. Currently it is a one in and one out scenario. I had to sell my Chase Volante R11 from 2020 to pay for the new Charlie French.

Newbery Axe Kit Bag
Left Bat - Charlie French Broadside (2022) *currently preparing
Middle Bat Left - Gunn & Moore Striker Original (1980s) *to be refurbed as a spare bat this season
Middle Bat Right - Salix Fera G1 (2010)
Right Bat - B3 Custom One Stripe Butterfly (2019) *snapped at splice and dead as of a few weeks ago unfortunately, will take into B3 soon
Leg Pads - Newbery Test (2017)
Gloves - Chase FLC (2019)
Thigh Guards - Kookaburra
Helmet - Masuri (2008)
Spikes - Adidas

Changes / additions before start of season:
  • New thigh pads - likely Charlie French
  • New boots - likely get some running trainers studded up
  • New helmet - Masuri again probably
  • If possible, I would like to visit Paul Aldred since he isn't far from me and get a new butterfly

Received it yesterday, was wanting to try B&S, it's 2lb 11oz.
With its low middle it still doesn't feel bottom heavy. Very much impressed with it.
Putting me in the dillema of using this one vs lighter bat
