Khawaja being the contender for best test player of 2022 and awarded best test player of 2023

Aussies would be stupid to drop him and put two new openers in

We are almost in 2025, what happened in 2022/23 is meaningless now.
Look at his record in 2024…

I have never seen Nathan McSweeney bat. It seems right that I don't express an opinion on his abilities.

Far too much agreement going on here.
😂

Boxing day test will be fun.

Opening the batting against Bumrah is as hard a challenge as pretty much anything in the history of the game. (not counting playing on a sticky wicket)

Also runs in the big bash for McSweany today. I know it is a different format, but there are two types of player after they get drops. The one who fades away and the one who pushes on and earns that go again. I think McSweany will play for Aus again soon.

Enjoying this thread. Great series with a bit of spice too.
But please can someone amend the title… it’s hurting my eyes.

Agreed, that was great to see, some incredible shots from
Konstas- my favourite being that quid down to third man from the Bumrah full ball. Fearless youth might invigorate and renew the oldies

Impressive debut so far for Konstas but a glass half full day in all honesty for Australia. Most docile pitch of the series so far, yet no one got a century...
Still hope Smith can drag the total up to 400-450.
Siraj seems like an a**hole and Kohli being his usual idiotic self.

Have loved hearing the Aussies dismiss bazball or that style for the last 18 months and then Konstas comes along and plays that way on debut lol. Rattled them we have them rattled already lol

In all seriousness he played well and will no doubt be disappointed to get out missing a straight forward defence shot. Feel for the other lad but at least this one is interesting to watch
