Seems we got the terrible weather a day later than most of the country here in Norfolk. Was supposed to be playing for my Sunday team today, got called off so decided to go to my Saturday teams chairmen's day which was also called off.. Supposed to have a game tomorrow but seeing as how there is standing water on the square, I doubt it'll be on..

Ahh well, atleast we managed to get one game on this weekend.

Sunny all day yesterday in our game. Played 2's yet again.
Bowled first, oppo posted 265-4 from 52 overs. We (not myself) dropped 6 catches and fielded the worst i have ever seen. I bowled 6-0-43-0 at the end and i must say quite unlucky.
We ended up on 156-8 from 46 overs. I posted 45 and took 23 from 1 over.

Disappointing day

Bad luck on the loss, mate, but sounds like a nice little knock - did your new Ayrtek provide any inspiration?!

Wasnt a loss mate, in our league it is a draw, and both teams only collect 'bonus' points.
The helmet was the talk of the dressing room, and all contact details and website was given to those interested. Didn't use the lid during the match as the bowling was that sharp to be honest. Was going to call for it as their opening bowler did try and pin me but decided to pitch it up as the only bouncer went for 6.
Was funny as i kept walking into the changing room and everytime a different person had the lid on. it was nice to get a game in as the rest of the league seemed to be struggling to get a game in.

Awesome, sounds like a lot of fun! Thanks for passing our details on too.  Let's hope the lid gets some use once the quicker bowlers come on.  Or once the rain finally stops and we actually find the odd pitch with a bit of bounce!

All games off this weekend but it didn't stop the league fining us! 2nd XI oppo rang up on Friday to say it wasn't playable, our skipper said we normally travel but seeing as a monsoon outside he would take their word for it. Even got a text saying it was a "no show" on friday night for Saturday. Next thing we hear on Saturday evening was the oppo are claiming we never turned up and they were expecting us! We now have to appeal to reverse the points award and fine! Absolute madness, oppo have even admitted the wicket was never playable.

This season we have been shafted left, right and centre by money grabbing Leagues with no common sense, over zealous administrators banning the wrong players and on several occasions blatant deception. No wonder clubs are folding. All we want to do is play cricket.

Got both games in this weekend, Saturday was a wet outfield, but today was fantastic! Nice dry track, bone dry outfield and sun shining, what more do you want!? Not so great batting wise though, Saturday we were bowled out for 48 chasing 176 :( I got a steady 2 ball duck in that match. Today we were bowled out again, setting them 84 to win off their 25 overs. I got another steady score, 1 this time :D However we had a great day with the ball and in the field and bowled them out for 62!! Poor weekend with the bat but picked 3-46 yesterday and 3-5 today.

Some how we manage to be one of the only two OCA games to be played yesterday, The pitch was a little damp as you would expect.

We struggled to 166-7 then bowled the opposition out for 17

happy days!!
