I don't have the pads, hoping the old faithful bat and gloves don't let me down!

Well if your GM gear stops working, I've bought one bat off here which is currently my match bat because it's class! I'm confident there are more gems to be had!

Another great weekend of cricket for me;

Saturdays league game we won the toss and put them in, they got 203 from 49 overs. We had 45 overs to try and reach the total.
Our opening pair started slowly with 33 from 11 overs when one was bowled out, our number three came in and attempted to hurry things along a bit. But to not much avail, the other opener ended his innings for 4 runs after an hour and 15 mins, so to the crease I came with us on 46 for 2 and needing 158 from 26 overs. Between myself our number 3 and after about 130 runs our number 5 managed to reach the total with 3 overs to spare. Really happy with the win as its the first time I've really lead a chase like that. I managed to get 78 not out I'm a bit disappointed to not get another ton this week after last week, but our 5th took a fair bit of the strike once he was in and ended on 45.

Today was a friendly - we successfully chased down 153 in 40 overs, I bowled and got 1 for 28 from 8. Batting at 7 to give some new comers a bat and some people that haven't batted much this year some time in the middle, came in right at the end with 28 required. Made a quick fire 15 not out.

My average for this season is now 57.8 and over the last two weekends I've averaged 101.5 - so I'm pretty happy with that!

Opened up yesterday and batted for 37 overs to make 101 out of our 227, then kept wicket for their 40 overs as we restricted them to 130 odd. Needless to say my legs are pretty bloody sore today.

League K/O second round last night. Lost by about 12 runs, didn't bat or bowl, fielded ok but the ball wouldn't stick in my hands so I fumbled everything!

Played in a good game on Sunday. We batted first and made 183-7 off of 40 overs. I opened and made 18 before nicking off to first slip which was a bit galling as I felt in pretty good form and departed thinking like I'd left a decent score out there to be honest. One of our lads hit a comfortable and brisk 61.

In reply, the oppo were 156-9 at the end. We couldn't quite winkle out the last man. They were a decent bunch; played in the right spirit, with a couple of beers and some banter afterwards. Roll on next week!

Hit 300 odd runs this week in friendlies/cup, including an unbeaten hundred and 3 unbeaten 50's. Get to the league game on the Saturday and I snick off for 5! So frustrating!!

We had what you could say a comfy win. We batted first and posted 474-5 from 50 overs. Oppo all out for 172. I mustered up a 2no and 1 wicket. That is a stark contrast to last week where we were 150 all out and one of our team getting 100no. We still have our 100% win record in the league.
Burdy I was away this weekend and almost fell off my chair when I saw your score, that's massive! Roy scored another ton I see!

Haven't been on here for a while!

Summary of my season so far...not played much on a Saturday. 2nd team has folded so only played a couple of games for the 1sts. Didn't do very well batting down the order so probably won't get a call back unless we're struggling for numbers.

On a Sunday, having by far and away my best season with the bat! (nothing special compared to other people on here but o well...)

Only played 4 games, first game of the season scored 56. Second game 34, week before last got 16. This week, we only needed 129 to win, me and the other opener put on 100+ partnership, and I struggled my way to 48 with a strained hamstring. Hit out on 48 with 10 or so runs to get.

I still can't walk properly re. the hammy, but was worth it for the runs  :D

Here you, hope it works

Apart from the bowling, how bad was the fielding?

Roy Smith hit 109 from only 43 balls. Of his 109, 54 came in 13 boundaries (12x4, 1x6), meaning the other 55 runs came from only 30 balls. On the basis he did at least face a couple of dot balls, that's a 2 nearly every ball. Was the pitch that big to run 2 every time, or bad fielding?

simmy, I have barely sneaked past the 50 landmark lol

13,2,0,0,8,2,34*,2,1

Timing it quite nicely, not late on it, had a few unlucky dismissals (run out by my partner sunday, got bowled pulling a virtual 2 bouncer thanks to the track, twice out slogging with no time left, got a cracking yorker etc etc) -  but not out of form just missing a bit of crease time.

They had 4 in the ring and rest on boundary most of the game. Sains who got 170 was putting it to all parts aswell. It was either 4 or 6, if a good ball was bowled 2s were easy to pick up. Fielding wasnt the best or worst i have seen.
