Thanks @cricketrob I used an orbital sander for all my sanding and a buffer drill piece for the buffing. I used David's at Norfolk Bats today as it much quicker to use. I use the following sandpaper grit for the majority of bats 120, 180, 240, 320 and 400. I may skip 120 if the bat is in good condition.
Thanks mate I will have to give it a do in a couple of bats I have Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I went over to see David at Norfolk Bats this morning to grab a couple of sets of stickers (also a few others bits which I will post elsewhere). I have given this bat a coat of oil and then a generous buff since the last photos. Buffing the bat makes it wonderfully smooth and silky, I can nearly see a reflection on it! All its needs is a scuff sheet and edge tape to protect the surface cracks and toe damage. I'm pretty confident it still has a few hundred runs left in it and does not feel dead when bouncing a ball on it. Ambitious and not rubbish, result!Still don't get it @Nmcgee?
Wierd. Why did the eBay add show a newbery sticker on top of the handle? May have been a wrong picture addedWith the cork handle, full sticker set and grains matching the grade. It looks a genuine 3 stripe series b3 to me.!
I wish you luck but I would be surprised if it lasts. Why didn't you splice in a piece of willow from a donor bat?
