Very cold, we lost the toss and were put into bat.

We steadily lost wickets but posted a total of 172 all out off 44, I came in at 11 and ended up 10 not out off 8 balls.

I opened the bowling - only got a 6 over spell, conceded just 10 runs no wickets.

They were struggling at 46 for 4 after 20 but then they started steadily picking up runs until they were within 10 of winning and 2 wickets in hand, fortunately we finished them off for 167.

Played against @edge side today. Stuck in in the wind and rain. We got 209-7 and I ground out a streaky 53. Will take that!
Bowled them out for 159 in the 39th so a good start to the season.
On a lower note I had to leave the field halfway through their innings with an allergic reaction to something, very strange

I decided to play cricket rather then go to the football and very glad I did,
Batted first we posted 230 I made 39 coming in at number 5 very happy slightly dissapointed but good to be out in the middle for a period of time,
And bowling wise we dismissed them for 160 ish I think I took 3 for 24
So good all round in my book

Utterly p***ed off. 3 games in with my new club, my average is 2 (two!). Yesterday played on an awful pitch, got one that stopped and popped up a leading edge. Not even sure if I'm in such bad form, don't seem to be sticking around long enough to know. Never in 35 years have I felt more like packing it all in  :(

Understand how you feel on awful wickets years of experience count for nothing also on poor pitches you can only judge your form by the the balls that that you hit in the middle of the bat.
Get yourself on a good  pitch with true bounce on a warm sunny day and the runs will come.

Lost today. Its not often you lose when two batsman score 86* and 75, but our 193-4 wasn't enough with our weakened bowling attack. The inexperience showed as the seamers bowled too many 4 balls and we dropped a dozen catches. Picked up a wicket, had two dropped. Matters weren't helped by the oppo key batsman being stumped and not being given and going on to make 80 odd.

Hope you're right! Unfortunately my 2 other failures were on flat tracks tho both felt a bit unlucky. It's going to be hard to banish the nerves next time out associated with trying to get out of this rut. i start to wonder whether this is temporary or age creeping up on me

Yes you are right all batsmen need a bit of luck with regard to batting wouldn't worry about age creeping as that's more to do with fielding most of my club are aged 45 plus.

Today's intra club (not inter club game as a pedantic member always points out to us) game has been cancelled due to lack of interest.
I'm missing next weekend due to a hospital appointment so that's at least 2, possibly 3 weeks of no cricket for me  :(
