Got tomorrows team email, and looks like it is in batting order. As a result I am somewhat unhappy, looks like finishing a game off in style in the last match a couple of weeks ago has earned me a relegation in the order to 8. Absolutely champing at the bit for a chance, but not being given one despite being probably the most in form player in the side :(

We have a guy who continually wants to be up the order, and tbf could do a job there (no better or even worse than those there potentially). However, he makes a much better 7 than those above him so for team balance he bats at 7, now he hates it and goes on about moving up the order and you can see his point but why don't some people look at the batting unit balance, not just runs/avg etc.

Not saying you are buddy, just that sometimes it actually does make genuine sense to keep people in certain positions rather than chop and change on form

I think my positivity with the bat goes against me here, as the captain has said he prefers me in the middle/lower order to either counter attack or finish an innings off, but my main frustration is that I'm not getting a consistent shot up the order. Our top 3 have had success in the last few weeks, but that isn't where I'm aiming to get a place, and they are one paced so I have to go out hitting and have often had to sacrifice myself going for quick runs at the end of the innings. I just hope that I can get a chance to prove what I can do without it meaning that as a team we are in a bad situation. Last weekend I didn't care when my brother declared when I was on 47 as the team should come first!

Just for arguments sake, so you go up the order and a plodder drops down... You then being all positive get done by a newer ball, fresher bowlers... Said plodder comes in with the team needing 10 an over to set/chase a target but it's not his game to hit out... Team will lose more often. It is hard and I have no doubt in your car it's not that easy but just going off what I've seen, a lot of the time it's just stuffiness/Cliques preventing people moving but there are times like in our team when it's about the balance and having the right player in the right position but each one knowing their role. So I'd love to think I could bat for 50 overs and core 100, however it's not my role. Assuming I've batted for 20 overs and we've lost only one wicket or less.. My job is to just start going for it, get the middle order in who are just as good only more attacking. That way we set 300+ instead of 250 ish . Does stop me generally getting ' big' scores etc but hey ho, it's a role within the order

Good luck today everyone - it's a beautiful sunny day down here today.

I've got a challenge today - travelling a long way with a very weak team, looking to win, to keep up our charge at the top of the table. The crap availability this week means I have 3 x 4th XI players, and 2 x U15's in my side.

However - nil desperandum, I'm feeling good about today and I can scent victory on the breeze!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll see you all on gere tonight, to see how you have done.

Must be a unavailability week or something, we literally have 4 normal first teamers today 😢

So weak today it's unreal, least we are home so can bat first, get skittled and watch the test hopefully.

There I am having a free weekend with no game today. Went to look at some local clubs to see what the standard is like in the TVL

Lost by 3 runs today, absolutely distraught.
Umpire gave me out LBW after I middled it, was batting well too and felt I would have knocked them off.
I hope the incompetent old fool loses every game at bingo tonight and loses his bus pass.
Unbelievable he's allowed to umpire, he has a hearing aid and can't hear you if talk to him from behind.

I hate cricket!
We didn't get enough runs.
They battered us in less than 40 overs.
I think there were 9 dropped catches (2 of them being me!)
And to top off my day I took the end of one of my fingers off in the field.

Fully expecting to be dropped next week now.

11 of 13 balls befor edging one to keeper.

Wicket looked like it had been cut with a flymo. Longest I've every seen on a pitch. Odd spot acted like a trampoline. Was cutting both ways for the quickies!

We was 152 all out. And the last 50 came from two under 17s batting 9 and 10.

We then had them 45 for 5 before they though back abit but ended up 128 all out with 10 left.

Full points without being a great day!

Had a shocker of a decision today bat raised vertical to let the ball go through to the keeper ball clips my pad outside off stump given out caught behind for one team managed to win scoring 195 off 33 overs to win batting second.

Got beat by 6 wickets against Ryans team!

We posted 230 and they knocked them off with a couple of overs left!

Still not won a game and disappointed having posted 230 to not pull off the win today.

So - we bowl the oppo out for 123 on a dicey pitch. A good result as they were a good batting team - yours truly sneaking 5-25. We then manage 124-9 in the chase, losing 2 wickets on 122 and 1 on 123!!!! Poopy-pants time!

We won last night by 2 wickets I came in at 10 with 30 needed for victory had 5 balls left. Massive win today by 7 wickets with 11 overs to spare. I bowled 9 overs 0-37 and didn't bat.

Tomorrow is against our arch rivals who usually beat us forecast is a bit wet do hopefully we Bowl first and skittle them
