Had a great decision given against me yesterday. Caught short leg when it hit my toe. Gone first ball thanks for coming.

Opened the bowling with the old ball. bowled 10 overs and got 2-24 and a nice bowled first ball I bowled. It actually spun....

2 runs off 19 balls before being bowled by a very skiddy bowler. Just played the wrong line of it. Moved down the order to 4 (usually either open or bat 3 as I'm a slow scorer) for someone who hasn't played in a month.  >:(
Really struggling to get a strike rate above 50 lately.

Played in the final of The Hare Cup today (teams from Div 2 - Div 5). My team is mid-table in Div 5 and we were playing a team 4th in Div 2 who had won this cup for the previous 3 seasons. Their openers put on around 170 for the first wicket but we fought back a bit and took some great catches so didn't feel too down at tea. Unfortunately we didn't get even get half their total in reply but cheered every run and from first ball to the last, the match was played in a marvellous spirit. Nice when you play a team who are clearly better than you but have no arrogance and simply enjoy the game of cricket. Congratulations to St Chads.

Played only my second Sunday game of the season today at Mildenhall CC in Suffolk, lovely ground really stunning set up, track was well used and slow and offered nothing for the seamers. Opened up and we had 73-0 after ten overs when they bought on there spinners and boy did it turn, I got bowled by the leggie who finished with 5-9 from 8 overs and we only managed to make 166 from 40 overs.
They are a strong club and probably thought they would walk the chase but found themselves 43-4 with there Ozzie pro fine for 14 hitting 4,6,4 and then found deep square, they had a 16 yr old open with him who held there innings together making 73no batted so well, lovely to watch a lad that young play so well and so straight they knocked it off for the loss of just the 4 early wickets. Although we lost was a good game played at a cracking ground in a great spirit.

Saturday made six failures in a row in sat cricket

The 81 I made midweek a few weeks is the only score over 15 in 10 innings. Which is disappointing after making 4 half centuries in my first 5 games this year.

Not even enjoying the cricket anymore. I'm taking a few weeks off, and if I still not got my mojo may switch to Sunday cricket for a season.

I've just loss the will for the over competitiveness in the leagues I play in at mo.

All I can say about today's game is village. They had 10 which went down to 9 when there opening bowler left the field and I quote as he was too tired to continue after bowling 3 overs. Then went down to 8 as one of their bowlers left the field after taking one on the hand which I can understand but about 10 overs in they gain an extra man as an ex bowler of the club who normally can't play turned up in denim shorts and a blue tshirt and converses and played the rest of the game

Sounds like I played against you yesterday the guy who came off after three overs tired actually has slipped as disc in his back and for the guy who turned up to watch has played for the club for over 17 years but works most weekends to be honest we was so weak after me and Barry got out we had nothing left the guy who has done his back is a top batsman unfortunately we lost a lot off players to the first team we missed our opening bowler who is one off the quickest in the league which would off made it a much better game

@simonmay5  Sorry mate yes we did play you. I thought he was genuinely tired as I heard a mentioned about him working a lot of jobs . I didn't realise he was injured, I feel quite bad now. I do hope he gets better soon and your bowlers fingers as that ball did get smashed back at him very hard

Not usually a marvellous spirit when we play Chads!

I suppose the match situation could have had something to do with it as despite being a final, it was quite one-sided so there wasn't really any tension. What I would say is that the team I play for plays cricket the right way, we're not into sledging (would have sounded pretty stupid at around 150-0 off 20 overs) and generally find opposition teams respond in a positive manner.

Had the last game of lms tonight. I managed 50 runs off 22 balls. The team for our highest score of the season of 144 and we only lost by 20 which is our best performance.
