Lost in the cup today, we were 200 all out with 5 overs left chasing 251.

We let the get too many and dropped their lad that got 100 on about 12, complete game changer, catches win matches.

I got 42 but was out slogging at the end so a little disappointed.

Played against @edge side today. Stuck in in the wind and rain. We got 209-7 and I ground out a streaky 53. Will take that!
Bowled them out for 159 in the 39th so a good start to the season.
On a lower note I had to leave the field halfway through their innings with an allergic reaction to something, very strange
Well played mate, made the most of my awful early season hard hands! Has Mason calmed down yet?

I had a shocker of an first game, didn't have much to contribute apart from one decent grab low down at slip, and replaced a weather-cancelled uni old boys' game on the Sunday with lots of beer. Hoping for improvement next weekend!

You'll notice I was kind and didn't reference the "helping hand" you gave me, good to see CBF members sticking together  :) I was undoubtedly going to miss the stumping in return but unfortunately the ball hit the stumps!
Shame as I was looking forward to having a nose at your Aldred.
As most who have any experience of Mason will know...he never calms down! Was funny to see him fall flat on his face as he threw his bat in disgust though  :D

I'm not around for the return fixture or the T20 we have lined up so all the best for the rest of the season

I had a bit of a stinker this weekend, followed up my 70 last week with a 4 ball duck (three LBW appeals, given out on the third). I seem to have developed into a Shane Watson LBW candidate, anything full and straight on middle and leg and I end up playing around my front pad. Desperately need to get on the bowling machine to work out how to get my leg out the way. Also kept like a drain on a difficult pitch, completely wrong footed myself on a regulation snick and didn't even make an effort to get to it.

I think  I can top that 16 runs  from three games this weekend including 2 golden ducks

Would be, but I'm a clubman at end of day! And I got to witness Soulman in full action keeping!

Same position as Tommo was told I was opening and found myself at 7 DNB so far this season faces about 15 balls had 2 shocking decisions and scored 10 runs. Still the keeping is going well. Took 4 catches yesterday and 3 were beauties the last was rather special full length took Infront of 1st slip.

Got a game in of 20slog20 just, batted first and posted 156 off 20 for 7, I got a sloggy 72 off 61 balls. 3rd 50 from 6 digs so going well so far. New bat is firing too, all middle.

Different tempo down here in Hampshire tonight.

Oppo scored 58-8 in 20 overs, which we chased down in 8 overs for 3 wickets lost. Happy with a 26 not out opening the innings.

Absolutely freezing and blowing a Hooley - coldest I have ever been playing cricket. Finished, showered and home from the pub by 9pm. Wife thinks I'm having an affair.  ;)

Suppose my first post on the forum should be about my successful weekend!

Last friendly before the league starts on Saturday. I opened the batting (my first game as Vice-Captain) with the captain, put on 113 together. He got out first for 61, I kept going and top scored with 75. We ended up getting 244-7 after 40 overs.

I then got 3 wickets as we bowled them out for 85. Shame it wasn't a league game!

Oh and continuing the theme, it was pretty cold in Kent.

I opened the batting in the pissing rain at LMS Regent's Park. Did OK in difficult conditions but only got 15 odd. Kept like a drain but it didn't help that I could barely stand up as it was so slippery. Big win for the team and looking forward to the weekend, just hope the weather plays ball.

First evening league game for me tonight.

We only got 117, one our openers batted the full 20 overs for 32 not out, not great to watch.  We bowled tight and managed to defend it, they got 96 I think.

The wicket was very wet and so was the outfield, didn't make for a great game.

I didn't bat or bowl but kind of enjoyed it anyway, nice to get out of the house (I'm very old)

I'm now missing this weekend and next  :(

I'd just found some rhythm in the last pre season game, to then not get any cricket for 3 weeks

Why are you missing 3 weeks?
